[the approximate ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter as calculated by Zu Chong Zhi][數]∶南北朝時祖沖之算出圓周率的近似值在3.1415926和3.1415927之間,并指出圓周率的約率為22/7,密率為355/113。為了紀念祖沖之,把他算出的近似值叫做祖率

指我國 南朝 時數學家 祖沖之 計算出來的圓周率的近似值，密率為355/113?！段膮R報》1983.12.9：“ 祖沖之 把圓周率的數值推算到小數點后七位數，這在全世界是第一人。 日本 數學家曾建議把密率355/113稱為‘祖率’，來紀念這位 中國 的大數學家。”
